Artificial Intelligence Policy

1. Introduction

Greenresearch recognizes that Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools—including language models, data analysis software, and research assistants can enhance academic work by improving clarity, structure, and efficiency.

However, AI-generated content must never replace the author’s original intellectual contribution. This Policy establishes the permissible use of AI in submissions and the consequences of misuse.

2. Scope

This Policy applies to all users of Greenresearch, including:

  1. Authors
  2. Reviewers
  3. Editorial staff

It governs the use of AI in:

  1. Manuscript drafting
  2. Language editing
  3. Data analysis
  4. Literature synthesis

3. Acceptable Use of AI

Authors may use AI tools to:

  1. Improve grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure.
  2. Organize ideas or outline manuscript structure.
  3. Generate preliminary drafts for review and refinement.
  4. Support basic data analysis or visualization, provided methodology is fully explained by the author.

Key requirement: All AI-assisted content must be reviewed, validated, and refined by the author. The author remains fully responsible for accuracy, originality, and interpretation of the work.

4. Unacceptable Use of AI

AI usage is strictly prohibited in the following contexts:

  1. Replacing original research ideas or intellectual contribution.
  2. Generating content that is presented as entirely author-written without disclosure.
  3. Fabricating data, references, or results.
  4. Bypassing the 14-point acceptance framework through AI shortcuts.
  5. Misrepresenting AI output as expert opinion or verified research.

Manuscripts found to violate these rules are rejected immediately, with no refund of APCs, consistent with Greenresearch’s non-refund policy.

5. AI Disclosure Requirements

Authors must explicitly disclose:

  • The type of AI tool(s) used
  • The purpose of AI in manuscript preparation
  • Sections or content influenced by AI
  • Disclosure should appear in a footnote or a dedicated “AI Usage Statement” section of the manuscript.

Example:

“Portions of language editing and sentence structuring in this manuscript were assisted by AI tools. The intellectual content, data interpretation, and conclusions are entirely the work of the authors.”

6. Review of AI-Assisted Submissions

Manuscripts employing AI will be:

  1. Screened for plagiarism and originality.
  2. Evaluated for authentic intellectual contribution.
  3. Reviewed for accuracy and methodological integrity.

Non-disclosure of AI usage may result in:

  1. Manuscript rejection
  2. Suspension of author account
  3. Permanent ban in cases of repeated violations

7. Accountability

Authors remain fully accountable for:

  1. Accuracy and validity of all AI-assisted work
  2. Compliance with ethical standards
  3. Adherence to submission guidelines and 14 acceptance criteria

Greenresearch does not accept liability for errors, omissions, or misrepresentation resulting from AI usage.

8. AI and Ethical Standards

  • AI must not be used to bypass ethical obligations including plagiarism rules, authorship credit, or data integrity.
  • Any AI output that infringes on copyright or intellectual property of third parties is strictly prohibited.

9. Integration with Revenue & Non-Refund Policy

  • APC payments are strictly tied to editorial and review effort.
  • Manuscripts rejected due to AI misuse or non-compliance will not be refunded.
  • Authors are expected to exercise due diligence before submission.

10. Policy Enforcement

Greenresearch will enforce this AI Policy through:

  1. Editorial Screening – AI usage is verified during initial manuscript checks.
  2. Peer Review – Reviewers may flag sections suspected of improper AI use.
  3. Post-Publication Audit – Random audits may be conducted to ensure compliance.

Failure to comply may result in:

  1. Rejection of the manuscript
  2. Suspension or termination of user access
  3. Reporting to affiliated institutions, if applicable

11. Continuous Update

Given the rapid evolution of AI tools, this policy will be:

  1. Reviewed regularly
  2. Updated to align with emerging global academic standards
  3. Communicated transparently to all users
